Garmin nüvi 1390LMT 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Map & Traffic UpdatesI recently got the Garmin Nuvi 1390LMT as an anniversary present from my sister (apparently she thinks I get lost a lot and could use one of these). This is why I decided to write a review. So far I’ve had the Garmin Nuvi 1390LMT for almost two weeks now and my overall experience with the device has been positive. A few of my favorite features would be the auto-reroute, route avoidance (I especially like this when I’m not in a hurry and trying to avoid tolls) and the where am I? feature, which came in very handy during road trips to different cities and states. No longer did I have to wonder, “Where am I?”

Light Weight And Compact

Garmin Nuvi 1390LMTThe unit is light weight (weighing only about one pound), compact and portable. So even when carrying it around, because I dare not leave anything that valuable in the car, I’m not that aware of its weight. The pictures and maps are very clear and the voice is very loud and adjustable. I also noticed that even though some commands become repetitive, it’s not as annoying as other units.

The Voice Prompt – Not 100%, But 98%

The voice prompt alerts are given hundreds of feet in advance, giving you ample time to register the command before the next turn or direction. Though it may not always be 100% accurate (i.e. with the traffic feature and speed limit indicator {usually off by about 5mph}) it’s one of the most precise units I’ve come across. So far I haven’t gotten lost or led astray using it.

Is It Easy To Program And Setup Nuvi 1390 LMT? – You Bet!

Garmin Nuvi 1390LMT is quite easy to program and set up Nuvi 1390 LMT, even for someone who’s not technical with gadgets (like me). It also has a lifetime of map updates, which saves me the trouble of having to buy and upload new maps every time the city decides to build a new road or expand a main highway.

Some Tips If You Want To Get It…

A few tips I might add to make your experience with the Garmin Nuvi 1390LMT better would be: immediately register your unit and download the user’s manual for faster and more precise set up, charge via the computer as charging in the car using the cigarette lighter won’t charge it properly and may cause overheating (check out “troubleshooting” in the user’s manual for further explanation), if unit freezes or continues to malfunction try doing a soft reset by holding down the on/off button for 10 seconds, some features may not work in certain areas but if you drive a little further in either direction it should start to function again, USB cable does not come with the packaging but you can use the same one you do for your computer. -> Read what others are saying  – CLICK HERE

Overall the Garmin Nuvi 1390LMT delivers. It’s a great product and a very affordable one as well. My sister left the receipt in the box just in case I wanted to return or exchange it, that’s how I know how much it cost. But so far so good. This multi-feature unit along with its reasonable price and great performance is definitely worth the try. If it continues to perform the way it has been then I probably won’t be needing that receipt. As you can see my Garmin Nuvi 1390LMt review is positive. I definitely recommend the Garmin Nuvi 1390LMT for anyone looking for a good GPS unit.
