Oral-B 8850 Professional Care 3D Electric ToothbrushSo I got the Oral-B 8850 just recently. Why? So let’s start with the beginning and why I actually bought the Oral-B 8850. I was completely delusional. Fact is I used to think I had perfect, Hollywood teeth the likes of Jessica Alba would be envious of. Ok, maybe not to that extent. But my point is I really thought I had clean teeth. That was until a trip to the dentist. So there I was, lying on the cushioned bench, flaunting what I thought was a work of art.
-
But one look changed it all. Granted a bulk of her face was masked, but I could see the look in her eyes. She was appalled at the state of my oral hygiene.
-
“Listen. I don’t mean to scare you, but if you don’t do something about your teeth… You might not have any left as you grow older…”
-
Me? Live with stinking dentures? Oh God please no! So I asked her what I should do. Instead of telling me to splurge a bomb and a half on weekly teeth cleansing sessions, she told me to get an electronic toothbrush. I was never a fan of sticking anything “gadgety” in my mouth. I was mighty proud of my brush! It was doing a great job. Or so I thought…

I took the dentist’s advice and went hunting for Oral-B 8850 Professional Care 3D Toothbrush online. And now, 3 months down the road, my dentist has a look of delight on her face whenever she takes a look at my mouth (they’re weird, they actually feel joy by looking at nice teeth).

I reckoned there may be quite a few people who might want an electronic brush of their own, so I decided to write a nice little review.

What You Should Know Before Buying

For starters, the Oral-B 8850 comes with a charger indicator and a charger. And this makes complete sense. If it was operated using normal batteries, odds are the battery compartment would be flooded in no time. The indicator is swell as well. I never have to second guess the time required to charge the brush.

Oral-B 8850This electric toothbrush is surprisingly high tech. Who’d have thought so much thought would be given to a brush? The packaging says the provides tens of thousands (a quick search online showed it to be 40, 000 in fact) little vibrations when it’s in your mouth. This feature’s fantastic! It’s supposed to gently dislodge those disgusting accumulations of plaque. And based on my experience, that’s exactly what’s been happening. -> Read what other customers are saying about Oral-B 8850 – CLICK HERE

Plus, the brush even has a little oscillation feature (Google told me it’s nearly 9000 times) that plays the role of the sweeper… All this, just to get rid of plaque!
-
Here’s something new for me. I never knew that the ideal amount of time we should brush for is 2 minutes. I mean, I don’t spend a decade in the bathroom, but I used to take about 5-7 minutes each morning. Not like that worked. But anyway, yes. Its 2 minutes. That’s all you need. And the brush comes with a nifty little built in timer that tells you when to stop.
-
Did you dentist ever tell you that you brush too hard? And that you’re hurting your gums? Mine did. But I was like, “I’m trying to clean my teeth here!” Well a little research proves that I was once again wrong. You really shouldn’t brush too hard. And thankfully, the Oral-B 8850 made this really easy for me as well. If I go too hard, it automatically stops. If I’m hurting myself, it’d have stopped. If… You get the picture.
-
I’m the type of person who, to save time (or maybe I’m lazy) brushes in the shower. Because this is electronic, I was a little tentative at first. But gradually, I found out that no harm will come my brush’s way.
-
Ah, now this feature is really important. The brush head is round. The design confused me at first. But after my first brush, I was blown away. The Oral-B 8850 actually surrounds each of my teeth to give it a squeaky clean. And to ensure that you don’t hurt yourself, it even comes with 3 modes. Polish, sensitive and clean.

Review Conclusion

Fact! The Oral-B 8850 is a great, great brush. And the only downside I’ve experienced is the formation of mildew on the rubber grip. I was quite perturbed at first. But this is nothing a thorough warm water wash can’t solve.

But hey, nothings perfect. And at just $66, this is something anyone could live with. Rating, 4.5/5.
