Let’s start with my Logitech Harmony 700 review. If you own a TV of any kind or any other related device, you absolutely need a universal remote. For one thing, it’s easier to keep up with one remote than it is with a dozen. Secondly, it’s cheaper that way. I recently purchased the Logitech Harmony 700. And if it weren’t for my kids fighting over our last remote and it ending up literally torn in half, I would’ve never discovered the greatness that is of a rechargeable remote.

I never knew that rechargeable remotes existed until we go the Logitech Harmony 700. This was a revolutionary remote in so many ways. First of all, I no longer had to spend money on batteries for the remote ever again. Once your remote is fully charged, you can use up to a week without having to recharge it again. How great is that? But the main reason why I got this remote, aside from the fact that our other one broke was because it has the capability of replacing all of other remotes. It can also control your DVD or Blu-ray players, other TVs, stereos, cable boxes and more. You don’t know how many wasted seconds looking for the right remote, can easily turn into long drawn out minutes. It’s absolutely frustrating at times especially when you’re in a hurry or you don’t want to miss the last few minutes of a show. To make things even more convenient, the Logitech Harmony 700 features a one touch activity button that automatically turns on your desired device. For example, if you want to watch TV, all you need to push is one button that says “Watch TV.” No more complicated demands, or ritualistic button pushing. Just one push of one button and that’s all. It doesn’t get any easier than that. It also has a sizeable display screen that shows you your commands as well as navigation. It’s like have a remote control guide the whole time.

Now you better believe I treat this remote with tender loving care. My children no longer fight over the remote anymore. But that’s because I never leave the remote for them to use and I take it everywhere I go around the house. Logitech Harmony 650 Review

So here is my Logitech Harmony 650 review. Why is it whenever you buy a TV, the first thing to always get lost or damaged is the remote control? I previously went for a whole four month without a remote control and it was absolute torture, especially since I’m an avid surfer. Channel surfer that is. I always find myself flipping through channels and sometimes watching two to three channels at the same time. But since I lost my remote was damaged by my little brother and then lost by my dog, I was left having to actually use the buttons on my HDTV. This took me a few minutes to discover considering I’ve never used them before.

Why I Got The Logitech Harmony 650

I finally was fed up of walking back and forth from my couch to the TV and limited to watching just a single show at a time. I had to get me a universal remote and fast. I opted to shop around online rather than going to my nearest Walmart to buy one. I wasn’t too fond of their generic universal remotes and felt that my Panasonic deserved a better companion that will turn her on, literally. I saw the Logitech Harmony 650 remote on Amazon and fell in love. It was the perfect size and price. And the silver color matched my silver Panasonic HDTV as well.

Program The Remote Using Your Computer

When I received the package, I immediately got online to set it up. It was neat that I was able to program the remote using my computer. The software that they provide really makes it easy, giving you a step by step on how to program your remote control. The Logitech Harmony 650 remote was ready to go in less than 10 minutes. This remote was the answer to all my problems. Not only does it replace my damaged and lost main controller, but it also took the place of my Blu-ray player remote, my stereo and sound system and even my cable. It was great. The other remotes are now safely being kept in a drawer and would just be my back up just in case anything ever happens to this one. But hopefully that will never happen.

The Logitech Harmony 650 goes with virtually any brand from Panasonic to Toshiba and even Samsung. These by the way are the brands of my current electronics. It has neat features like a brightly colored viewing screen that shows you the commands and options as you navigate. It also shows you the commands of other devices like your DVD player or stereo. It even gets easier with the one touch simplicity button. All you have to do is push one button with a command like “Listen to Music” and it’ll automatically know to turn on the stereo and not the TV. Now that’s what I call a remote control that’s in control.

Overall, I have to admit that I love this remote now. I much prefer it over the more expensive ones. This one doesn’t need to be docked to keep charged. So here is my Sony BDP-SX1000 review. Our family loves to go on road trips and since our children are still at that age when they always have to be entertained, my wife and I decided to invest in a portable disc player. It would mainly be used for travels and occasionally at home, when our TV is being occupied by us while our children want to watch one of their Disney movies. We often looked around electronic stores for a decent one but would never find one that we really liked. They all seemed a little on the cheap side; not in price but in built. For something that’s going to be towed around from here to there and would even maybe suffer the occasional drop or bang, I wanted something that was durable as well as functional.

Sony BDP-SX1000 Is Touch Based

While I was surfing the net, I found myself on Amazon and decided to look there for one. I saw the Sony BDP SX1000 and knew almost instantly that with its light weight and black and seamless design this one would be perfect for us. I also like that the controls are touch based, like that of an iPhone or touch phone. The Sony BDP-SX1000 is a portable Blu-ray disc player. It has so many neat features like a flip screen that can swivel and turn angles up to 180 degrees. I also like how you can flip the screen away from the disc insert area where buttons are present. This will minimize the temptation of pushing buttons, stopping and starting the disk, and shutting down the player while a disc is actively running.

The screen on the SX1000 is about 10.1 inches long, which makes for perfect viewing. The pictures aren’t small at all and you can easily view the screen from 4 feet away. Its high resolution display is so bright and clear. I didn’t really expect high definition images like that from a portable disc player, but it was a lovely surprise. I can rest assure knowing that my children aren’t straining their eyes to watch something fuzzy and unclear. Sometimes I bring the disc player to bed and my wife and enjoy a quick movie before we sleep. The Sony BDP-SX1000 has a battery life of about 5 hours per charge. It’s sufficient enough for our road trips since they’re usually short and we always make a pit stop every 2-3 hours. It also fits perfectly in our DVD case that we had from our old portable DVD player. This player is really great and so far I have no real complaints. The only negative I can think about at this point would have to be in regards to the fast that it doesn’t come with a remote control. Other than that, it’s great.
