Before I start with my review I have to say it: I LOVE Panasonic TY-EW3D2MMK2 3D GlassesI But now let’s start with my Panasonic TY-EW3D2MMK2 Review. I am a complete and total Avatar enthusiast. So when the 3D DVD became available in the market I happened to subtly mention it to my boyfriend and told him about Panasonic TY-EW3D2MMK2 Ultimate 3D Starter Kit. I didn’t think he’d get them since he already went shopping for my birthday present; he got me a Coach bag (yes I’m spoiled). But then last night we had dinner and near the end he gave me a surprise box. “Your second birthday gift…” he says.
I ripped it open and to my surprise it was the Panasonic TY-EW3D2MMK2 Avatar 3D Starter kit with glasses. He’s the best ever! We immediately went home after to set it up. It works great with any 3D Panasonic TV or display. The picture was absolutely awesome. I thought Avatar was great before but with the clarity and effects that an HD screen provides coupled with 3D, it’s simply amazing.
The 3D glasses are comfortable and can even be worn with regular glasses underneath. Good thing too, since my boyfriend wears glasses. They are also rechargeable so I don’t have to constantly buy batteries for them. This means longer use as well as savings. I also really like the active shutter feature that the glasses have. The Panasonic 3D glasses make watching 3D more fluid and consistent throughout the entire movie. Usually I would get minor headaches from viewing 3D for long periods of time, but that didn’t happen this time around. A really pleasant surprise since Avatar is a really lengthy movie, almost 3 hours long. So we got to enjoy 3 whole hours of third dimensional Na’vi action.
More Great Features
Other great features are the easily accessible slide switch that lets you easily turn the glasses on and off, quite a handy element when it comes to watching 3D horror movies.
I’ve watched 3D movies in theaters before, but I would have say that a 3D home experience is far better. Picture is clearer and brighter. Usually the pictures in theaters tend to be a bit grainy and dim. That’s probably why I would have headaches by the end of the movie. The quality of the 3D glasses in theaters do not compare to the active shutter rechargeable glasses that come with this kit. The rechargeable glasses are far more superior and of better build, which plays a big factor as to the quality of the 3D effects. I probably won’t be going to the theaters anymore to watch 3D movies. I don’t mind waiting until they’re released on Blu-ray. The wait is worth it if it saves me an evening of Advil and sleepless nights. -> Read what other customers are saying – CLICK HERE
Now that we’ve got the complete starter’s kit we can continue to enjoy the 3D experience with many other movie favorites. The Panasonic TY-EW3D2MMK2 Ultimate 3D Starter Kit was an awesome gift. It has great value and for a great price (depending on where you buy it of course). We’ve had it for more than two weeks now and it’s the highlight of every evening. I highly recommend it. There was not a single element that I didn’t like.
If You Love Watching 3D Movies Getting A 3D Starter Kit Is A Must
I can’t get enough of 3D movies and this is why I got the Samsung SSG-P3100M 3D Starter Kit. Whenever I head to the theatres, I almost always watch em’ in 3D. It’s just a few extra bucks. Besides, it’s the experience that counts most. So obviously, when I got my brand spanking new Plasma D490, I was immediately on the hunt for a great pair of 3D glasses. Just as I was going to buy another pair, I stumbled across the Samsung SSG-P3100M. And you know what? It was an instant winner. -
I bought mine from Amazon, so I was able to take advantage of a sweet deal. The SSG-P3100M 3D glasses come with 5 free 3D DVDs. Blu-Ray, no less. I was delighted. Samsung decided to take the risk out of the purchase by letting its customers test out its latest creation… And I didn’t even have to spend an additional dime on a movie. It comes with 4 of the Shrek movies, and Megamind. It’s a great way to spend time with the family. -> Find out what other customers are saying – CLICK HERE -
Of course, not many really care how many free movies they get unless the glasses do the job. But trust me, the Samsung SSG-P3100M does not disappoint.
The first thing I noticed was that the 3D glasses doesn’t come with a rechargeable battery. And for me, that’s completely ok. I’m not a big fan of having to plug in something and wait till the end of the world before it’s ready to use. My phone does that well enough. Side note: After having used the glasses for a fair amount of time, I can safely conclude: - 1) The batteries last for ages 2) The glasses are efficiently designed, so the batteries won’t drain out of nowhere -
The Samsung SSG-P3100M barely weigh 2 pounds. They rest comfortably over the nose bridge and they fit over most standard sized spectacles with ease. I was a bit worried they might not. I’m known as the One with 4 Eyes, for a reason. - There’s no stone left unturned as well. You see, they’ve even taken the liberty to maximise convenience. How many companies actually do that for tiny little products like a pair of glasses? What I mean is this. The little on/off switch is exactly where it should be; on the top right hand corner of the 3D glasses. I hate having to hunt around for something as trivial, yet really important, as this. So I was delighted to know that there would be no operational difficulty. -> Get Samsung SSG-P3100M Now - CLICK HERE
Unboxing & Overview Video
Now here’s what you’ve been really looking for. Just how good is the Samsung SSG- P3100M in terms of performance? One word – Phenomenal. -
The glasses create a staggered effect. Basically, every little details pounces at you. You could almost touch that ugly green ogre’s nose! In fact, I was so amazed at the life-likeness, I headed to Google to find out how the glasses were designed. -
In a nutshell, they’ve created it such that each lens is blocked, one after the other, for a millisecond. It’s so fast, you wouldn’t catch it. But it’s this very effect that allows for a thoroughly memorable movie experience. -
Obviously, these glasses are compatible with most of the common Samsung LEDs and Plasmas. So there’s hardly an issue there.
In fact, the only downside is that it doesn’t come with a protective casing. So if you’ve got little kids running around the house, be sure to keep the Samsung SSG-P3100M 3D glasses out of harms’ way. Still, it does come with a cleaning cloth!
My home-movie watching experience has shot up exponentially with the Samsung SSG-P3100M. And tagged at $171 + Plus 4 Blu-Ray’s, it’s a huge bargain. Final rating: 4.5 – 4.75/5.
After clinking the beer glasses along with a routine round of cheers, my best mate decided that it was time to flaunt his 1 month old purchase once again: Samsung SSG-3100GB 3D Active Glasses I’d seen them before. But finally, I was going to get a chance to use the SSG-3100GB3D glasses whilst watching Avatar, in 3D.
I’ve been using my own pair of 3D glasses, and I love it to bits. So when my brother-from-another-mother told me to try on a pair of Samsung SSG-3100GB glasses, I scoffed.
“This, cheap piece o’ crap? Are you serious?” -
Naturally, he told me to shut up and try them on. So I relented. And at the end of the movie, I was blown to bits. I LOVE the Samsung SSG-3100GB 3D Glasses!
Amazingly, the glasses hooked up with the TV very quickly. And there was even a notification on the screen that told us that our glasses had connected successfully. I let out a little exclamation, which my friend caught of course. His words? “This is nothing, just wait.” -
Just like my own pair, the Samsung SSG-3100GB makes use of, what I like to call, the staggered effect technology. Ok fine this is what Samsung calls it. Basically, there’s this neat little effect that clocks each lens, 1 at a time. This happens for barely a millisecond, so you’ll never notice it (unless you’re a crossbreed of Superman and Flash…). And I’m dead serious. It’s picturesque quality. Breath taking in fact. -> Find out what other customers are saying – CLICK HERE -
What more, the SSG-3100GB 3D glasses are designed with cute little side shields. These block off yourperipheral vision to pretty much engulf you in the 3D experience.
Comfort? Are you kidding me? There’s no reason to ask! They’re light as a feather and they’re really well balanced. You could go on a movie marathon without feeling trapped – like what most specs end up doing to you. And of course, they fit perfectly over most glasses. -
Around the middle of the movie, I needed to use the toilet. To my surprise, the Samsung SSG-3100GB detected my movement, and automatically switched off after I’d gone a certain distance. And as I was walking back to the sofa, it came back on. It’s the Bluetooth technology that allows for range-viewing (up to a certain distance only, though). -
Once the movie was done, and the overgrown Smurfs were put away safely, I began to rampage him with questions. -
“Dude! I’m going to run back home with this pair. What batteries does it use?” -
He completely ignored my theft-threats and told me they use pretty much any button batteries. Though the best option would be to get Maxwell Lithium 3 Volt ones. They last for ages. 80 hours in fact. And you can buy them in bulk for a great price. -
He also told me that I can save the jail term by just getting a pair of my own, because they’re only $70. Ha. Ha. Ha. Plus, they actually come with a pair of batteries. It’s just a matter of getting the package, taking out it, putting the batteries in, and poof. You can start the watching. -> Buy Samsung SSG-3100GB Now – CLICK HERE -
I took a look at the pair and pondered over his words. I did notice a couple of downsides. They’re really delicate. The frame doesn’t wrap around the bottom of the lens. So I knew I’d have to deal with this very carefully. But then again, I really doubt there’s a pair of 3D glasses that are not fragile. -
Also, they only work with Samsung 3D TVs that have been produced since 2011. So that’s a bummer for anyone with a slightly older model. Lucky for me, I’d recently bought a new Samsung Plasma.

The Samsung SSG-3100GB is definitely a fantastic pair. And at $70, it’s well worth the price. I can’t freakin’ wait for my pair to come in!
